Memorial Day Weekend

It was a pretty fun weekend... We started it off by dinner with Paco & Jaynie on Friday night at Cabo  - our favorite Mexican joint. We have a ritual of eating there almost every Thursday night. It all started when I was pregnant... and hungry... and tired... not wanting to cook! So the people there have been watching Lane grow.

Saturday we had lunch at Big Daddy O's with Lisa & T.J. and Amanda her two cute kids, Hank, 3 and Sadie, who is 7 months old - Lane and her are about the same size! They were really cute together. Then, Lane was off to Grandma's and we went to a Dodger's game with Dave & Megan, it is our new tradition to go to a game with them, this was the second year in a row.... last year I was pregnant, and it was a day game, so REALLY hot! This year we played the Cardinals and won, the weather was perfect and I was able to enjoy a cocktail or two, which made it even more fun.

Lane didn't know what to do with this girl...

Sunday we had lunch with Jim & Diedre, who were in town visiting Paco & Jaynie (they came too) at Sea Fresh. Everyone was able to hold Lane and play with him...

Then we went to see Stacy, J.d., Tytus & Sami and hang out on the beach. We "strolled" around the beach, visited friends; Lisa and Lacie were having a "pool party" and Small Town Zeros was playing at the end of Rossmore Street. It was funny, we were accused of being in Babyland, since we had a little group of strollers and small kids/babies on the outskirts of the party. Royce and Cat had Baby Scarlet and Casey and Brenna (who is pregnant with boy #2) had Talen, then Lane and Sami. Boy, have times changed! Stacy made some awesome Chicken Parmesan for dinner and Lane was loving hanging out with Tytus, he thought he was so cool! He's going to teach you how to skate and surf one day...

Monday was a chill day, I was exhausted from the days before... but we went to breakfast, then Toys-R-Us to pick up birthday gifts. A double Slip N' Slide for Thomas' 9th Birthday, a Fisher Price record player Aspen's 1st Birthday, and a Star Wars character book and mini Light Saber for our friend Diedre's nephew who has been getting treatment for his recurrence of lymphoma cancer. :( Of course, Dave had to get something for himself too, an Alfred E. in Superman costume for his collection of action figures... (insert eye roll here)
