shopping and coffee on Mississippi, which I hear is called "hipster row"
hipster Lane
Thor Lane
this is funny, because Lane's caregiver Tommee's husband is named Thor (yes, that is his given name. Awesome. He used to take care of Stone at the kennel)
Lane with his buddy William
William never failed to make Lane smile.
Lane had so much fun with Jeb and William, laughing so much. William is a great entertainer
(he gets that from his entertainer father)!
Day 2: Lane's first bike ride!
Touring the city on bikes and eating at a food cart - very Portland
trying to find a helmet that fit.
Already loving being on the bike and it wasn't even moving or William was in sight.
The tire on Dave's bike blew out in the first 5 minutes, but he walked and we rode to a nearby bike shop - which they are not lacking in Portland, since so many people ride bikes - and we picked up a new helmet for the nugget. So cute!
breakfast at the Flavour Spot - waffle food cart. Portland is famous for their "food cart pods"
riding the bridges of Portland
Lane took a snooze on the ride, good thing he had a visor on his helmet to help hold his head up
cool park in the Pearl District where the kids play in the water. William had a blast.
we had a couple of adult beverages at a nearby restaurant
Portland's most famous strip club, the city has the most per capita in the country
lunch. wearing his bike shirt on his first bike ride ever
us, super tired, ditching the bikes for a ride home on the MAX
Day 3:
breakfast in the bumbo - Anne had all sorts of fun baby things for us. A crib, highchair, toys, bumbo... vodka (for mom)
we drove up to the pittock mansion
sick view of the city from the backyard of the mansion
we headed back down to Voodoo Doughnuts, this was a must-see for Dad.
the menu
I love the glittery bricks
the line.
twins in their blue shorts, waiting oh so patiently.
we made it.
choices. choices.
the goods.
our selection. before.
mmm...
after. all we could eat. super sugar!
parking lot across from voodoo
saturday market. on sunday.
the MAX
the street performer who made the nugget cry :(
an awesome store below Anne's office that had so many pairs of locally made earrings that I would love to own
feeling the peak of our sickness, on the plane ride home. awesome.
It was short, and we were sick, but such a fun trip and I can't wait to go back to explore the city more. I miss my friend Anne and am not going to wait another 6 years to see her.
