First Halloween

Lane dressed up as Charlie Brown for the majority of Halloween Day, fitting as he has a strong resemblance. The Seahorses went trick-or-treating through Patagonia, the different departments hand out candy. His friends' costumes were so cute. I was worked after carrying his around for an hour - my biceps were killing me, little Lane is not so little anymore, he is one solid dude.

It's Fall Y'all!

I love fall. Halloween is definitely one of my favorite holidays. We had a lunch date with auntie Adrienne today at Sumo sushi. Lane tried edamame and ginger for the first time. It was so cute watching him try to bite into the slippery edamame with his front teeth, he loved it.. asking for more with "Mmmm"... next time he'll have to try the sushi!

After, we went to the pumpkin patch for a mini photo shoot and to pick up a pumpkin for the carving party we were headed to. Lane was totally into the pumpkins, but not too sure about the big tractor... he was a little freaked out.

Then, we went to a co-worker's house for a pumpkin carving party, I carved a jack-o-lantern while Adrienne played with Lane. It's always fun seeing people I work with outside of the office. Lane had a pretty good time, too. I had to laugh when we got in the car to drop Adrienne off, and she said, "man, that's alot of work" talking about keeping up with the nugget. Tell me about it, it's exhausting! But so worth it.

5th Annual Circle X Camping Trip

Every year we get a group together for camping at Circle X in the Santa Monica Mountains. We rent out the campground and spend the weekend. It's cool, because it's not too far from home, but far enough to feel like you are getting away. It's right off of the PCH from Neptune's Net at County Line. There are hiking trails and beautiful views all around. This year I opted to go for the day on Saturday with Lane, Dave stayed Fri-Sun. With a teething baby that wakes up in the middle of the night, especially when he is not familiar with his surroundings, I just thought it better that we sleep in the comforts of our own beds. We had fun for the day, though, we woke up early and headed to the campground. Lane got to meet Wyatt for the first time. I brought my chili (had to make it with turkey this time since Dave is making his way towards vegetarianism). We used the ergo backpack style, and took Lane on a couple of hikes, he slept through most of that....

View from hike, the ocean is in the distance.

Rose Bowl Flea Market

We went to the Rose Bowl Flea market today. So much fun and so much good stuff! All we need is a bigger car and more money and we'd be set. We left with a punk rock vest for Lane, a blow mold Halloween decoration and a new (old) suitcase for dad.

8 Months

Crawling all over the place - fast. Standing up and "cruising" (walking holding on to things). Talking up a storm. Your first word was "Mama"! Good boy. Dad is pretty excited that you are saying "Dada" now, too. You are so excited when you see dad, crawling up to him and standing up holding his leg, reaching up for him to pick you up. You are so aware and curious about everything around you.

Eating tons of food. We've added finger foods, cut up pears, peaches, banana, green beans, corn, carrots, peas, carackers. This was a month of major teething. You got 6 teeth all at once! 4 on top and 2 on bottom. Better to eat more food with!

LOVES: the remote controls, spanish music, dancing

HATES: getting dressed and diaper changes... apparently it's a big deal.

Grandmas!

Grandma Price is in town for Lane's baptism, so we kicked off her trip with dinner with Grandma Cheri... Lane was pretty stoked to have both Grandmas with him at the same time.

Tiny Dancer

Lane has become quite the dancer. He loves music (wonder where he gets that). If he is sad, all you have to do is sing. At school last week, I paid a visit just in time for Annie the music teacher. They told me to watch Lane, who was not sitting watching the music, but playing in the kitchen nearby. His back was to us, but his spanish teacher Diana told me to watch him. They started singing "Baila, Lane, Baila, Baila con los manos"  - it was so cute, he started shaking his booty right away.

Over the weekend, we had music on, and he would stop everything he was doing, listen, and if he liked the beat, start dancing. It was so cute. I didn't know the words to his new favorite song, but sang "Baila, Lane Baila, Baila, Baila, Baila" over and over again, and it seemed to be good enough, he was so happy to hear his jam.

Teething

Lane has some major teething going on... I see one on top and one on bottom now. He got kicked out of daycare because of "not being able to participate" today. We'll see if they pop out soon. Using lots of teethers...
