First walk around the Patagonia campus

Lane and Jack got to go on a walk with Tommee at day care today - look how cute they look in the ghetto stroller! I am working on finding them a donor for a new stroller already....

We're Rolling Over!

Well, at least he has done it a few times now... a few nights ago, I woke up to a different cry in the middle of the night, and Lane was on his belly in his crib. I'm not sure how he did it, and don't think he knows either... Yesterday, Dave had the day off, so he stopped by the Seahorse Room to check it out. When we walked in, Lane was on his tummy playing, and it didn't even click for a minute, that he had rolled over on his own! It was so cute to see him slithering around with the other two babies his size. Yay, Lane! I'm so proud! And scared... we're going to be in trouble when this kid gets mobile!

Father's Day

Sunday was Dave's first Father's Day. We celebrated by going to breakfast, then me cooking dinner for Dave & Grandpa Michael. On Saturday, Dave and Paco took Lane to the Johnny Cash Music Festival at the Fairgrounds while I went wine tasting for Jen's bachelorette party. It was Dave's first extended period of time with Lane and he did great. There were clothes, diapers and bottles strewn all over the house, but other than that everyone was alive and well, so I consider it a success! I could have drank a little less wine, though...

Back to the Grind

Well, it is day 2 of being back to work and Lane being in daycare and everything is going great. Yesterday was WEIRD, felt very surreal sitting at my desk and not just hanging out with my nugget all day. Lane did really good, he took good naps and was happy when I visited throughout the day. I am going to have to bring more outfits, though, since he going through a few a day spitting up... Today I went in to say hi and he was too busy playing to even care if I was there, I guess it has already begun! I am so relieved that it is going as smoothly as it is, though, and so comfortable with Lane being close-by with awesome ladies, AND he's having fun! Both nights when we have come home, Dave and I play with Lane on the floor and he is so happy to be with us and cracking up laughing and it is my favorite sound in the world.

Day 1 in the Seahorse Room

I will be returning to work and Lane will be starting daycare at Patagonia on Monday. Today was our first day in the Seahorse Room and it was a success! It was a tiny bit rocky, mostly on my part, getting used to where everything is and how things work. My goal was to get there by 8 AM - close to the time that we would get there when I go back to work and we made it!

We spent 3 hours this morning, Lane even took a nap in his crib. He seems like he is already super comfortable with his caregiver, Tommee and everyone else in the room, so that makes me happy! There are so many fun things to do in there and I know he is going to love it. It is an added perk, that I will be able to feed him and stop in whenever I can during the day. It doesn't get much better than that. It would be so hard to leave him and not see him all day long, I am so lucky to have such an awesome job!

Starting Solids

We started on rice cereal over the past week or so, I am not too sure whether he likes it or not. Lane makes the funniest faces when we are feeding it to him. Dave and I gave it a try, and it does not taste good. ugh. I wouldn't want to eat it either! Bring on the veggies and fruit! His high chair came in yesterday, and even though we're not using it yet, we tried it out to see how we liked it... I did accidentally pinch a little of his thigh roll when I was putting the tray on, OUCH!

First Rock Show

Lane went to see his Dad's band, Strand Quentin, play for the first time at the Local Rock Picnic on Saturday. To make sure we protected his virgin ears, he was sporting his Baby Banz. This was his first time wearing them for an extended period of time, he loved them, he even took a nap wearing them. I thinking he had a good time, even though he had a "blowout" mid-set and we spent a couple of songs cleaning up!

4 Months

Man, time is just flying by! Lane is now 4 months old, weighing in at 16.06 pounds, 25.5 inches long and his head is 43.5 centimeters in diameter - that's a big brain... He is happy and smiling all of the time, grabbing things with control when you hold them in front of him, holding his own bottle and talking ALOT! He is putting everything in his mouth and grabbing his tongue with his thumb and pointer finger. He is still trying to sit up if he is sitting at an incline, but is still pretty wobbly, he can get there on his own, just can't stay in the position. We've started trying rice cereal, but I'm not sure how much he likes it... AND the biggest accomplishment of all, sleeping through the night...sometimes!

LOVES: Pretty much the same things as last month

HATES: getting dressed, the car seat when you first put him in.. and when you lag preparing his bottle

Lane, you are getting more and more fun as the days go by and I can't even express how much we love you, nugget!

Aspen's 1st Birthday

We celebrated Aspen's first birthday party yesterday, they had a chill pizza party in their backyard. I can't believe it has been a year already. We found out we were pregnant, a week after Aspen was born! I guess it was real exciting for Lane, he slept for 1.5 hours of the 2.5 hours we were there, on a blanket on the grass. Guess it was cosy. It will be a little more fun in a couple months when he can wear sunscreen and sit up and we are not locked into to staying under cover in the shade.

I am learning that Lane gets a little overwhelmed by more than one person singing at a time... whenever Dave chimes into my singing, he starts crying... and at the birthday party when everyone started singing Happy Birthday, he freaked out a little.... haha..

The first of what I assume will be many birthday parties was a success!
